Theme Migrator
A guide on how to use our Theme Migrator tool.
The idea behind the Theme Migrator is to migrate your customised Section Store sections whenever you update your theme version.
A theme update will keep only the content, sections & templates that is a native part of your theme.
- Make a copy of the theme you want to migrate into
When you update your theme to a newer version, it creates a fresh copy of the original theme. This updated version includes all the latest features and improvements, but it doesn't carry over any custom changes you've made outside the theme's built-in functions.
- Migrate Your Old Theme to the New Version
Use the 'Theme Migrator' tool inside the app to transfer your sections. Select your original (old) theme as the source. Choose the newly updated theme copy as the destination. This process will migrate Section Store sections along with their customisations.
Important notes:
- Double-check all selections before starting the migration.
- Never migrate directly into your live theme.
- Choose Pages for Migration
Select the specific pages you want to migrate.
- This will transfer both the content and sections of these pages, including all customizations.
To migrate everything, use the 'select all pages' option.
- Note: Migrating all pages may take more time to complete.
