Setting Up the Sticky Countdown Bar (Timer + Discount Code)

The SS - Sticky countdown bar pins a live timer to the top of your store, with an optional title and a one tap discount code. Use it for sales, launches and daily deals.

Add it

In the theme editor, open the Header area, click Add section, pick SS - Sticky countdown bar and drag it to the top.

Pick how the timer counts down

• Fixed date: one time event. Set the end date and time. Turn on Hide when expired so the bar removes itself when the sale ends
• Reset daily: an evergreen deal that counts down to a set hour, then restarts the next day
• Reset weekly: counts down to a set day and time each week

Good to know: daily and weekly timers follow each visitor's own local time, so the deal feels the same worldwide. Fixed date counts down to the one moment you set.

The discount code chip

Turn on Show under Discount Code and type your code. Then pick what a tap does:

• Copy code: copies it to the shopper's clipboard and shows your Copied text
• Open link: opens a link. Leave the link empty and the code applies automatically at checkout

Important: the chip only displays the code. Create the matching discount in Shopify under Discounts first, spelled exactly the same.

Style and position

Number style gives you rolling digits or a flip clock look. Position works like the Sticky bar: Sticky by default, Fixed if your theme misbehaves, and there is a static on mobile option so the bar scrolls with the page on phones.

Quick fixes

• Timer shows the wrong time: check the mode first. Daily and weekly follow the visitor's clock on purpose
• Code does not work at checkout: confirm the discount exists in Shopify and matches the spelling
• Expired bar still showing: turn on Hide when expired (Fixed date mode)
