Popup/Modal Not Showing (or Shows Every Time)

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Check the Trigger setting
   • In section settings, find "Pop-up Triggers" or similar
   • Options include:
     • After X seconds – Shows after time delay
     • After scrolling X% – Shows after scrolling down the page
     • Exit intent – Shows when mouse leaves the window (desktop only)
     • Click to button – Shows when a button is clicked
2. Check the "Hide for X days" setting
   • 0  = Shows every time (good for testing)
   • 1  or higher = Remembers visitors and hides the popup for that many day
3. Test in Incognito/Private window
   • This resets the "already shown" memory
   • Proves whether the popup logic is working
4. Test on the live site URL
   • Theme Editor preview may not trigger all popup behaviors correctly
   • Always test on your actual published store URL
5. Exit intent doesn't work on mobile
   • Mobile devices don't have a mouse cursor
   • The "mouse leaves window" event cannot fire on phones/tablets
   • Use a different trigger for mobile visitors

Quick Test Checklist

•  Trigger is set correctly
•  "Hide for X days" is set to 0 for testing
•  Testing in Incognito window
•  Testing on live site URL (not Theme Editor)
•  If using exit intent, testing on desktop
